Spring is in the air and it’s the perfect time to connect with the community. Here are some great local events happening in the Bow Valley this spring.

Local Theatre

Get ready for an evening of comedy as Canmore’s own Pine Tree Players present the award-winning musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, directed by Maxine Bennet. This production is inspired by Rachel Sheinkin’s book.

An Evening with Martyn Joseph

Join the Banff Centre for an intimate evening with Martyn Joseph, a unique singer-songwriter who delivers a performance with a huge far-reaching sound that is energetic, compelling, and passionate—one that continues to blow crowds away around the world.

Bear Day

It’s time to welcome the bears back to the landscape for another year with Bow Valley WildSmart. Family friendly activities include bear spray demonstrations, safety talks, a bear trapping demonstration, bear awareness hikes (registration required), a kids bear story time, and bear related booths and displays. Chat with Alberta Parks Ecologists, Park Rangers, Conservation Officers, Fish & Wildlife Officers, and more. This event is free!

Author Reading 

Join the Banff Public Library for an author reading of Amal Alhomsiah’s new book: Senescence: A Year in the Bow Valley.  Copies of the book will be available for purchase. Please register online for this free event.

Flower Moon Swap

The Canmore Public Library features Full Moon Swaps. These events allow the community to bring gently used items to the library as a donation. Items will be available for anyone to take home. Everything is free, and everyone is welcome. You do not need to donate items in order to take items home.
